This tournament was our club’s ‘Mystery Lake’ – which means that we don’t learn which lake it will be until the meeting a few days prior. No club members are allowed to pre-fish the lake prior to the tournament
Well, here are the results.
Once again, we only caught 2 fish totaling 8.93 pounds, BUT we had a fish die on us in the live-well, so with the penalty our total was 8.68. That total was good enough for 6th place, earning us a check! I couldn’t believe it when Carol Mahoney was handing the check to us…
Our big fish was 6.22 pounds. Both fish were caught using a Zoom Horny Toad. This result was good for 55 points and pushed us into the 12th place spot in the 2014 Team Anglers of the Year standings. We are happy about that.
For once, we don’t have mixed feelings about this result. We didn’t fill out a ‘limit’ (5 fish), but only two other teams did! It was a very tough day of fishing for almost everyone as you can see from the results – 12 teams failed to weigh-in any fish… Congrats to Jeff Crandon & Dan Richardson on a great bag of fish! They seemed to have found a key spot and by all reports stayed on it all day – I don’t blame them! Also of special note, Alex Udwari – who lives in our neighborhood, and his team-mate Kyle Anderson finished in 3rd place with a 4 fish limit. Congrats guys!
Here’s a picture of our team after the weigh-in, holding our big fish:
